Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced ADHD and Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our students diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), providing tailored support to meet their individual needs and promote their overall development and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students diagnosed with ADHD and/or ASD, assisting them with their academic tasks and social interactions.
  • Implement strategies and techniques to support students in managing their ADHD and/or ASD symptoms effectively within the classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for students with ADHD and/or ASD.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/guardians regarding their academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Teaching Assistance or Special Educational Needs.
  • Proven experience working with children and young people diagnosed with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges associated with ADHD and/or ASD.
  • Ability to implement various strategies and interventions to support students with ADHD and/or ASD effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, during school term time.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
