Job Title:  Temporary Care Assistant

Location: Lancashire

Pay rate: £12.86

Balfor Health and Social care are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Temporary Care Assistant to join our team in Lancashire. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide mobility support to help residents move around safely.
  • Serve meals and help residents eat, if needed.
  • Monitor and record residents’ health conditions, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to residents.
  • Follow care plans and ensure all care is provided in accordance with the residents’ needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Assist with medication administration under supervision.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and policies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a care assistant (6 months in the last 2 years).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references.
