A fantastic children’s residential home in Bromsgrove is seeking several residential support workers to work in their children’s residential home on a flexible basis.

As a residential Support Worker, you will be able to imprint on the lives of children and young people whilst under the employment of our client.

You will be supporting Children and young people with emotional and behavioural challenges.

As a support worker, you will provide a nurturing, therapeutic environment, care, support, and supervision to help children and young people to reach their potential. This includes household tasks, cooking, shopping, laundry and independent living skills to the children and young people.

The role will consist of working a variety of shift patterns including Sleep in duties which are paid at an additional rate.

Your role as Residential Support Worker:

Always ensure that the ethos of the Statement of Purpose is applied.

Adhere to statutory policies and procedures.

To be a Key Worker were designated and contribute to the child or young person’s plan which reflects his/her care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic and health needs. Ensure that this plan is regularly reviewed in conjunction with other team members.

Be alert to signs of distress or abuse and to ensure that the child or young person is monitored and protected.

Work within the safeguarding and child protection guidelines, following the reporting procedures where appropriate.

Be aware of children’s rights and work in an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive manner.

Ensure young people are consulted about the quality of care they receive. Promote the participation of the children and young people placed at the home.

Contribute to childcare planning and review meetings when required.

Ensure that confidentiality is always maintained and observe data protection guidelines.

Requirements 

Previous experience working with vulnerable individuals and or children and young people

  • QCF Level 3 – Working with Children & Young People, (Or equivalent)
  • High degree of resilience (essential)
  • Good communication skills (essential)
  • Driving License 2 years minimum (Desired)
  • Enhanced DBS Check
