1:1 ADHD Support Assistant
Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham
Position Type: Full-time / Part-time (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience working with children with ADHD or special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 ADHD Support Assistant to join our team at a welcoming and inclusive school in Kings Norton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a student with ADHD, ensuring they feel supported and understood throughout their school day.
- Assist with implementing the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), adapting teaching methods to suit their needs.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor progress and set achievable goals.
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe environment to promote learning and emotional well-being.
- Help the student with focus, organization, and managing transitions throughout the day.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with ADHD or additional needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with the student, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
- An understanding of ADHD and strategies for supporting children with attention and behavioral challenges.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs support are advantageous but not essential.
