Passenger Assistant – Northfield, Selly Oak, Bartley Green & Quinton
Hourly Rate: £12.50 – £13.68 per hour
Location: Birmingham (covering Northfield, Selly Oak, Bartley Green & Quinton)
Hours: 7:00am – 10:00am and 2:30pm – 5:30pm (hours may vary)
Type: Casual, flexible work (covering absences, sickness, or new routes at short notice)
Role Overview
Balfor Recruitment is seeking experienced Passenger Assistants to support children with special needs on their journeys to and from school within Northfield, Selly Oak, Bartley Green, and Quinton.
As a Passenger Assistant, you will:

Escort and supervise children with a range of students with SEN, medical and behavioural needs.

Ensure their safety, care, and wellbeing during transport.

Act as the key link between parents, schools, and the Travel team.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who are caring, patient, punctual, and reliable, with the flexibility to cover routes at short notice.
You should have:

Experience working with or caring for children with special needs.
- DBS registered onto the update service or willing to undergo a new check

Previous experience as a passenger assistant (desirable).

Strong communication skills.

Basic First Aid Training.

Safeguarding Training.
Additional training (desirable, but not essential):

Harness Training

British Sign Language (BSL)

Autism Training
