KS3 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Stoke on Trent
Location: Stoke on Trent
Duration: Full-time, Ongoing
Salary: £85 – £100 per day
About the Role: A dedicated special needs school in Stoke on Trent is seeking a passionate KS3 Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role requires a compassionate individual who can contribute to a supportive learning environment, conducting assessments and providing tailored assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of KS3 students.
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom displays.
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
- Collaborating within the SEMH department.
- Demonstrating flexibility, proactivity, and patience.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience or strong interest in supporting students with SEMH.
- Nurturing and compassionate approach.
- Effective team communication skills.
Essential Requirements:
- Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience.
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
- PECS and Makaton experience (desirable).
- Valid Enhanced DBS check (or subscription to the update service).
- Valid Photo ID (driving license or passport).
- Recent, verifiable school-based references.
- Level 1 Safeguarding Certificate.
