Your Key Responsibilities:

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated one-on-one support to a child with severe SEN, ensuring they receive the personalized care and attention they need.
  • Manage and deescalate situations with a calm and reflective approach, helping to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with personal care when needed, making sure the child is comfortable and supported throughout the day.
  • Establish and maintain consistency and routine, which are critical to the child’s development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs).

  • Experience working with severe SEN children, with the ability to handle complex needs effectively.
  • A patient, calm demeanour, capable of deescalating potential incidents.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care as part of your daily responsibilities.

  • Strong teamwork skills, able to collaborate with teachers and support staff.
