Teaching Assistant – Digbeth
Location: Digbeth, Birmingham
Duration: Full-time
Salary: £85-£98 per day, depending on experience
About the School/Role:
A fantastic school in Digbeth is looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time position will continue until the end of the academic year. In this role, you will work across various key stages as an Intervention Teaching Assistant, providing both group and one-on-one support to students.
Requirements:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning or Childcare.
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including speech and language difficulties and learning disabilities.
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate (training can be arranged).
- Recent and relevant references.
- Valid photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (new DBS can be processed).
Responsibilities:
- Assist with behaviour management in the classroom.
- Provide individualised support to students who require support.
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP’s (if required).
- Foster student independence and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to enhance educational support.
- Work with children from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Key Stage 2 (KS2).
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children across various key stages, catering to diverse academic abilities. It’s essential to serve as a positive role model while possessing strong academic knowledge to assist with lesson support. Patience, commitment, and the ability to create a safe and welcoming learning environment are crucial.
