Balfor are working on behalf of well-established education trust who are looking for SEN TAs to work across their fantastic SEN schools. We are looking for full-time committed teaching assistants to provide a nurturing and inclusive educational environment for all students, especially those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The trust has a range of different schools that could provide some fantastic opportunities for Level 2’s through to HLTA’s.
The schools are a mix of settings, both primary and secondary covering a range of different needs including ASD, SLD, Complex needs and behaviour (SEMH) classes. All the special schools are located across Birmingham including, Stechford, Hall Green, Castle Vale, Sparkbrook, Quinton, Tysley and Kings Norton.
The schools are dedicated to fostering a supportive community where every student can achieve their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN TAs to join the amazing dynamic schools and make a significant impact on the lives of the students.
Job Description
As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching assistant, you will be responsible for supporting high-quality, individualised education to students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with the class teacher, and other staff to create and implement effective teaching strategies and support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Support for Learning:
Assist students with a range of special needs and behaviours
Use special educational strategies and techniques to support individual learning.
Encourage Social and Emotional Development:
Support children in social integration within the classroom and during activities.
Help manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner.
Foster emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-esteem among SEN students.
Requirements:
Experience teaching children or young people, in an educational setting.
A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- SEN school-based experience
- The last 2 years covered references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service (We can provide one for you)
