Pupil Support Assistant
Location: Sutton Coldfield
Duration: Full time, ongoing
Salary: £85 – £95 per day
The School/Role:
A fantastic SEN school in Sutton Coldfield is looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant to provide tailored support for children with diverse needs. The school is passionate about preparing pupils for life, promoting independence, and encouraging a positive “can do” attitude. The role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment while engaging students through personalised support, PECS, Makaton, and structured learning activities.

The ideal candidate for this role should:
- Have experience supporting SEN pupils across different attainment levels
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
- Communicate effectively within a team and remain calm under pressure
- Show commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment
Requirements:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant or relevant SEN background
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- Experience with ASD, SLD, and complex/non-verbal needs
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school-based references
- Valid photo ID – Driving Licence or Passport
- Full enhanced DBS on the update service
